About
Grupo Industria is a free resource about one thing: crocheting baby blankets. The guides are written for people who are new to crochet, or who can make a chain and a few stitches and want to finish a whole blanket with straight edges and a clean border.
The name comes from the domain. The site has nothing to do with industry; it is a small collection of crochet patterns and how-to guides.
What you will find here
- Easy blankets worked in a single stitch, with the turning chain and the stitch count explained row by row.
- Written patterns for striped, textured, ripple, corner-to-corner and granny square blankets, each with materials, gauge and finished size.
- Stitch guides that show how a stitch is worked and what kind of fabric it makes.
- Sizes and planning: common blanket dimensions, how many chains to start with and how to estimate yarn.
- Techniques and borders: gauge, color changes, joining, weaving in ends, blocking and flat edgings.
If you are new, start with How to Crochet a Baby Blanket, then read the guide to choosing yarn and the size chart. The full list of guides is on the Tutorials page.
How the guides are written
All patterns use US crochet terminology and spell out their abbreviations. Each pattern states its stitch multiple and shows the arithmetic behind the starting chain, so you can check the numbers yourself and resize the blanket. Measurements are given in inches with centimeters in parentheses.
Gauge figures are targets, and yarn amounts are estimates. Both change with your yarn, hook and tension, which is why the guides ask you to make a swatch and to buy a little extra yarn from the same dye lot.
The images on this site are simplified drawings made to show stitch textures, layouts and tools. They are illustrations, not photographs of finished blankets.
Articles are published under the site’s name. We do not publish invented reviews, ratings, testimonials or credentials. Basic stitches and traditional motifs such as the granny square are common knowledge in crochet; the written instructions here are our own wording.
What this site does not do
Grupo Industria covers crochet technique only. It does not give medical, sleep or product-safety advice, and it does not present any yarn, stitch or blanket as tested or certified for use with infants. Fiber content and care instructions come from the yarn label, so read the label of the yarn you buy.
The American Academy of Pediatrics advises keeping loose blankets and other soft bedding out of an infant’s sleep space. For questions about using a blanket with a baby, follow your pediatrician’s guidance. The patterns here keep to flat borders and do not add attachments or trims.
Corrections and suggestions
If a stitch count does not work, a measurement looks wrong or a link is broken, please tell us through the Contact page. Correct numbers matter more to us than anything else on the site, and corrections are always welcome.
